QR codes are great tools for businesses and professionals to use to share information with mobile users. A QR code includes black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. Smartphone users can take pictures of these codes to get the information businesses intend them to easily. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could add a QR code to each and every post on your blog, making it easier for people to access your posts or information on their mobile phones? That’s what Super Cool QRCode does.

Creating a table of contents for your WordPress website can not only help the search engines find your pages and post more easily, it can also make life easier for your visitors as well. If you have just a couple of blog posts, you probably can do the job without needing a script. But that is not the most efficient way to do it for large sites. Table of Contents Creator lets you add a dynamic table of  contents to your WordPress blog. Not only it can save you time organizing your existing blog posts, it also keeps track of the new ones.

In a perfect world, we’d all be able to share our contact information on our websites without having to worry about spammers. Spamming is a serious crime, but that does not stop people from doing it. Some of these spammers do give their victims the chance to opt out of their e-mail lists. Others are more vicious when it comes to using e-mails they scrape from websites. If you intend to share your e-mail address on your website, you should install Cryptx or WordPress to keep your contact information protected.

Spammers use web bots to go through your website and mine e-mail addresses. While they don’t have permission to send e-mail to these addresses, they do it anyway. CryptX allows you to hide your e-mail addresses by using Javascript and Unicode. It covers both regular and mailto e-mail links. The plugin allows you to apply it to your content, comments, and other sections of your website.

I don’t know about you but I always schedule a few posts ahead of time just to have something to post in case something comes up. When you run a small business, you can never anticipate everything that could go wrong. If you do not have a few posts ready to go, you are taking a big risk. I schedule posts ahead of time and move them further forward when I have something new to write about. If something comes up, my scheduled posts get published without me having to do anything. Now that would be the perfect plan if things always went the way you want them to. In some cases, WordPress can fail to post your future posts at the time they are supposed to be published. One way to fix this is by reinstalling WordPress. Perhaps an easier way to get this done is by modifying your cron.php file (set your timeout to 3 or more). Don’t want to mess with any code? WP Missed Schedule has you covered.

WordPress is not only a decent platform for English blogs, it can also be used for international websites , in some languages that are so different what we have gotten used to in this side of the world. Take Persian-world. It’s an awesome plugin that transform your WordPress website into a Farsi portal. Farsi (Persian) is close to Arabic in some ways, but it differs in many areas too. Persian World can be a life saver of a plugin for anyone interested in blogging in that language.

Persian World gets to work as soon as you activate it. You probably want to know some Persian before installing it. It not only allows you to post your content in Persian language, it supports Persian dates too. It does have fully customized Farsi widgets that you can add to your website to customize its look and feel further. [click to continue…]

RSS widgets are great ways to add dynamic content to your website and provide more value to your readers. WordPress already has a very decent RSS widget. But that does have its limitations. Thanks to Advanced RSS plugin, you won’t have to worry about those. It’s a highly customizable solution that lets you change the look and feel of RSS feeds on your website and change things around by playing around with XSL templates.

Advanced RSS Plugin does have 7 templates for you to take advantage of. These templates are designed to specifically work for certain feeds (e.g. Twitter feeds). You can always change these templates in your database to customize them further (unfortunately, I was not able to change these templates or create a new one from this plugin’s options page).
