They are convenient for people who don’t have all day to read your content and want to figure out how long it will take them. You don’t need to pay for a plugin to implement this feature. Here is the code that adds an adaptive reading time calculator to your site.

This is not a regular reading time calculator. It is smart enough to adjust for technical/scientific content automatically. It work for any content length. This code is Flesch-Kincaid inspired. It can adapt to different writing styles. It has a caching function too.
