There are many folks out there waiting for you to slip up so they can inject their links into your site for various reasons. If you already have a site that gets a lot of comments with bogus links, you can use these plugins to remove the links and clean your comments:

Remove links from comments: removes the website field in your comments. It keeps the external links on your website to a minimum. This might discourage some of your commenters, so you want to test this carefully.
